If you can, the process will be something like select 'export bookmarks' (from existing browser) and import the same file into (putative) replacement browser.
There is no guarantee that this process will work with 100% fidelity: Some browsers support more features than others, so there will be a bit of approximation at the edges. You should, however, get each link into your new browser, even if they are differently organised, and/or lose some comments, if there are any comments.
Another approach might be to 'export as html' (or similar). You could then open this html file in any browser, but it might make keeping it up-to-date difficult.
Do keep this thread updated with the progress that you make in reducing the resource usage, as that is quite an interesting subject.
