Any ideas on how to get firefox to look like Internet explorer would like to have access to some content ie videos on aol.msn lycos. Open for suggestions. Need good instructions as I am still a newb! Using Fedora 5distro.
no way for lycos and msn. They specifically require IE, Flash, WMP, and activex. Find some other source for your entertainment. They don't support you, so don't support them.
For aol you can use agent switcher and a safari string to view videos.
try using the opera web browser. it has different options like "identify as IE 6.0", "identify as mozilla" etc..
it may/may not solve ur problem. but it does work for some sites whose scripts are internet explorer specific. i had a similar problem and opera worked out nicely for me.
the emulate mode in konqueror and netscape 8 work great on a windows system but not on wine. Rigth now you can install IE6 with flash under wine, but I havent seen anything claiming that wmp9 works. So, now you are back to the original problem, and the answer for the time being is no lycos or msn under wine.
