"best" photo organiser

Dear people,

I am looking for a program for organising my increasing number of photos. I'd like to be able to add comments, keywords, location, author etc, access exif data and so on. I would like to use the program in scripts (e.g. export comments according to selection criteria). Additional advantage would be the basic transform tools, web-page generation and other similar goodies. I would prefer not to use SQL and Apache for this task.

I have been looking for gqview and gthumb. Unfortunately the information stored is not compatible between these programs (is there any standard way to store comments on pictures?) and the scripting possibilities seem to be missing. So I am a bit afraid of getting stuck with a particular program.

Any suggestions? Is it possible to find a program like this which does not require SQL and web servers?

Best,
Ott

Have you tried it yourself? Seems to be a promising program but I cannot find any documentation on the home page.

I'll take a look at zoph. I am a bit afraid about apache/mysql but scripting seems to be there.

Thanks,
Ott
