I'm a outside computer tech for a company that has been hired to see if it would be possible to transfer a Banker II software from a old unix server to a newer slackware server. Since I'm the only one with linux expirence I have been given the dubious honor to see if its possible.
So far I have ftp'd the entire bii dir from the unix server to the slackware server. I noticed it had a file called COMPILE in the src/ dir when I opened it up it seemed to be similar to a makefile. However when I run it I get the following errors:
./COMPILE: line 40: runcobol: command not found
./COMPILE: line 48: runcobol: command not found
I have installed tinycobol and open-cobol but no luck. Am I wasting my time here? Would a better operating system work then slackware?
Seems like you need to create a script called runcobol that executes the colbol compiler. You'll probably need to check the parameters that passed to runcolbol and pass them on.
