Azureus and download time

I am downloading SuSe 10.0 using the Azureus BitTorrent Client. For my download rate I am getting speeds like 30 kB/s. I haven't gotten anywhere near 100 kB/s. I understand that there may be variations in download times but I thought that I would get a speed somewhere in the 300 kB/s range. Also I can't get my health icon to turn from yellow to green on my linux machine. Which means I have NAT problems. However when I use this program on my windows machine I don't have these nat problems. My health icon is green. I have tcp port 6881 open on my suse firewall. I think. I added the port number on the tcp line and saved it and restarted the firewall. Once I went back into Azureus I tried the NAT/Firewall test I still got an error.

Could this be my problem with download rates? I seem to get alot of slow connections on all files I download.

If you click on details>peers and see a column of 'L's and no 'R's that NAT error is probably for real. If you see any 'R's at all you have remote connections working.
As I suggested in your previuos post you can have this tested by one of several websites.
http://www.hackerwhacker.com/
This site claims to test for blocking by your ISP as well as any router/firewall issues you may have. Azureus must be open to check this if you are port forwarding properly.
Are you still running a router ? If so check here http://www.portforward.com/
It is strange that your not having this problem in windows. Are you sure the software firewall is really open ? Try shutting it off completely temporarily as long as you still have that router to protect you.

When I Shutdown my SuSe Firewall I get remote connections. On my Windows machine I also get remote connections. I guess its a firewall problem. Does anyone know how to open a port using Yast Firewall setup?

Looking at my firewall in YAST> additional services
6881:6999 TCP
6881:6999 UDP
In the router I have this same port range setup. I just set it by the advice given by D-link. I think Azureus claims 6881 by itself is enough. It probably is.
I can't remember doing anything else to get this running.
If you have only one machine on that router your already pretty well protected. The firewall is more like a failsafe.

Maybe by ^bumping^ this thread someones memory will be jogged
