awstats log format problem

Hi,

I am processing the log files of apache. But awstats is saying

--------
AWStats did not find any valid log lines that match your LogFormat parameter, in the 50th first non commented lines read of your log.
Your log file /repository/mail.joshi.edu/apache-joshi1.gz must have a bad format or LogFormat parameter setup does not match this format.
Your AWStats LogFormat parameter is:
1
-----------

I have changed the log format to LogFormat = "%host %other %time1 %methodurl %code %bytesd" as my log file was of the following format...

132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:08:01 -0400] "HEAD /help/index.php?calculate=true HTTP/1.0" 302 -
132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:08:01 -0400] "HEAD /src/createnotice.php HTTP/1.0" 302 -
132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:10:01 -0400] "HEAD /src/createnotice.php HTTP/1.0" 302 -
132.28.1.51 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:11:07 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 302 14
132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:12:01 -0400] "HEAD /help/index.php?calculate=true HTTP/1.0" 302 -

132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:14:01 -0400] "HEAD /src/createnotice.php HTTP/1.0" 302 -
132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:16:01 -0400] "HEAD /help/index.php?calculate=true HTTP/1.0" 302 -
132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:16:01 -0400] "HEAD /src/createnotice.php HTTP/1.0" 302 -
132.28.1.51 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:16:16 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 302 14
132.28.3.199 - - [09/Jul/2007:04:18:01 -0400] "HEAD /src/createnotice.php HTTP/1.0" 302 -

But still didn't work...I think I have specified something wrong in LogFormat. Can anyone please kindly let me know the correct format for this type of log ?

Thank you

Does awstats know how to read gzip'ed files? Your log file (apache-joshi1.gz) doesn't sound like a plain text file.
