Automatting RPM Updates
I'm not very good with scripting... What I'd like is an script (or 2 scripts) that I can added to cron.daily that updates RPMS from 2 directories
Directory 1 (for example /updates/non-critical)
Directory 2 (for exmaple /updates/critical)
The script will install (if any) rpms from directory 1 only if that program is already installed but an older version & save the output & errors to /var/log/update-rpms, if none do nothing.
The script will install (iif any) rpms from directrory 2 only if that program is already installed but an older version, then shedule an reboot & save the output & errors to /var/log/crit-update-rpms, if none do nothing.
Is this asking too much, asking for nothing but trouble, or does someone know of a program/script that does this, or an example script that with some tweaking would do it?
Thanks
