Assistance needed in burning mp3s to audio CD in GnomeBaker

I am running Fedora Core 5 on an x86 machine.

I downloaded GnomeBaker in an attempt to burn an album of mp3s to an audio cd. I've tried this on KDE and now GnomeBaker and both programs cannot handle converting mp3s to an audio cd. I get the error:

The plugin to handle a file of type audio/mpeg is not installed.

Can somebody show me how to fix this problem? By the way, I have enabled mp3 playback support, if you need to know.

You need to convert the mp3 format to ogg first before burning with gnomebaker. Use mpg321 program for the conversion.

Hey Anarctica,

Did you ever get gnomebaker working with the mp3s? I'm in the same predicament myself.

It has been awhile since I did this and I can't find my notes but... use mp32ogg to convert mp3 to ogg format then gnomebaker will burn the songs to cd format. There may be a better way but this is the only way I could get gnomebaker to work with mp3s.

I believe the command is mp32ogg yoursong.mp3. You will end up with the orig. mp3 file and an .ogg file. Put your .ogg files in a directory and burn away.
