when I type pacman -Sy i get:
kdemod-core is up to date
error: failed to update core (no servers configured for repository)
error: failed to update extra (no servers configured for repository)
error: failed to update community (no servers configured for repository)
in /etc/pacman.conf the server is /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist for all 3 of them
Wouldnt you think it would be logical to have the main repo's actually work, or be listed correctly? This oversight is very irritating.
I have no gui at this time, pretty plain Arch install aside from me adding the kdemod repo
i asked on the arch forums and the chakra forums they keep sending me back and forth to each other please just try and answer the question if you're able
I've never found mirror ranking tools any good - on Arch or gentoo. YMMV
For me it was just a easy to locate a "close" mirror - usually not so many to choose between in Aus.
Have you considered reading the Arch Beginner's Guide, which has detailed instructions on setting up your Pacman mirrors (including how to find the fastest ones)?

Personally the "rankmirrors" python script that is recommended in the Arch Beginners Guide works great for me.
