Apache2 PHP5 + mod-mono

Does anyone know if it's possible, in Debian, to run both PHP5 and mod-mono at the same time? I have a client interested in adding some portions of ASP code in a separate directory of a website that he would like to run in ASP. It took me forever to figure this out, but it appears that, if installed from the repos, the two are exclusive, you cannot run them at the same time. I found a guide on the internet that suggested compiling from source could fix it, with some minor alterations to the compile, but due to previous versions of mono, it's reading the wrong monos, I need to clean it out, but don't want to clean it all out if it's just going to turn out they're mutually exclusive due to some sort of unfixable software issue.
