Apache Question

is it possible to get virtual domains from a mysql database in stead of using conf files (for apache)

I would like to create my own CP, to add and remove virtual hosts. I want them to be listed in the MYSQL (thats just the best way)

Is that possible, or just a dream..?

I'm sure its possible, maybe takes lots of programming and changing of source code, etc.

Why not just make your application use php or the like to control virtual hosts, etc using the apache configuration files. Isn't there something called cpanel that does this already?? Not totally sure though on that one.
