Apache Mod proxy doesn't work with all images

I'm trying to use apache with mod_proxy so that any request to
http://myserver.com/mirror/whatever.com will get whatever.com via proxy. This normally works except when images aren't in the same folder as the html being requested. for example if index.html wants logo.gif and the src for the img tag just says logo.gif it works but if it's in a different folder say /images/logo.gif the server doesn't get the image, how do I fix this?
