Apache configuration errors

Every time I run the apache 2.0 configuration script, it returns the following errors:

checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See 'config.log' for more details.
configure failed for srclib/apr

I have installed MySQL 4.0.20 and I will install the latest versions of PHP and Perl after I install Apache correctly.
Thank you in advance!

Those other installs, we're they RPM's by chance? If your installing by source, you need a c compiler to compile, like gcc like it states, etc. More details is appreciated to get better replies and answers.
