You can't.

I recommend switching to rxvt-unicode, which has all of aterm's features but also supports unicode and fontconfig. Fontconfig support gives you anti-aliased fonts and a much more elegant way of specifying them.

also how can I add the transparency to Xdefaults?
I tried
Code:
urxvt*transparent: true
and
Code:
urxvt*transparency: true
they don't work
(I tested tranparency, it works great with -tr"

I don't mean to be rude, but man urxvt works better than guessing.

Here's the relevant parts of my .Xdefaults:

Code:
XTerm*scrollBar:true
URxvt*font:xft:Terminus:pixelsize=16
URxvt*reverseVideo:true
URxvt*saveLines:65535
URxvt*tintColor:grey
URxvt*shading:35
URxvt*loginShell:true
URxvt*inheritPixmap:true
URxvt*termName:xterm
URxvt*loginShell: true
URxvt*reverseVideo: true
I'm using Dimitar Zhekov's "Terminus" font, which isn't an anti-aliasable font but is my personal favourite console font. The "termName:xterm" is a hack to get w3m to work.

Some people on the gentoo forums use
Code:
Urxvt*inheritPixmap: True
Urxvt*tintColor: white
Urxvt*shading: 20
but I find that less readable.
