Nope, nothing against that! As I said, I got some experience with Linux Apache MySQL PHP, so if PHProxy is one of the options that can deliver, then I'd embrace it! The question: would that be sufficient?
Knowing the power of PHP I suppose it is quite able, hehe, but I'd like to have this confirmed before setting up my own Linux server (not running any at this moment) and spend time with configuring! I'll check out the PHProxy documentation right now.
If indeed PHProxy/Apache can do the same as "hide my ass" (that is: pass through all http requests) but without even doing anonymization, then indeed that's what I'd been looking for!
I suppose that for video streaming also some other protocols via other ports need to be passed through, right? PHProxy can do that? I'll look into it right away! Thanks for the tip! I used to program in PHP, so I do like the idea of a web based proxy written in PHP!
Just in case: are there other alternatives? Perl / Python is okay, complete apps (binaries/packages) are even better, since I got lazy and compiling adapting scripts are things I try to avoid if possible.
