aMule - problems connecting to a server

Good day. I've managed to install aMule on my computer but I am not able to connect to any server. I've tried many with no success so I think I am doing something wrong. Have anyone here ever had this problem? Thanks.

ok !

Look through your amule options and find TCP port in aMule XX and UDP port YY then you have to set your firewall like this: switching in xx and yy also work out xx+3 and type in the new number.

/usr/sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport XX -j ACCEPT
/usr/sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p udp --dport XX+3 -j ACCEPT
/usr/sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p udp --dport YY -j ACCEPT

you have to be logged in as root to use iptables,
