amarok on gnome?

Is it possible to run the amarok media player on Gnome? I really like Gnome over KDE but I like amarok for a media player. Alternative suggestions for a Gnome-compatable media player are welcome -- the mandatory requirement is that it plays MP3 files without a problem and has a good library feature (with search capabilities) a la iTunes.

YaST says they're installed. When I search for amarok files in Gnome and come across the executable binary's, I get the message "No vewer capable of displaying the document" These files are located in /opt/kde3/bin -- are these the executable files? I'm not really sure (Windows guy). If KDElibs is installed but it still won't run, then what?

to start then from the shell prompt without going to that /opt/kde/bin directory

include /opt/kde/bin in the path as well
lookout for

/etc/ld.so.conf
