Amarok: how to add themes?

I've not been able to get Amarok to use themes. I get as far as installing a new style in Settings, Configure Amarok, Appearance, Context Browser, and selecting it from the dropdown list, but this makes no difference to the way Amarok looks. I've tried about 5 very different themes but Amarok still looks identical. What am I doing wrong?

Amarok v 1.4.5 on KDE, I've tried it with all three options for colour scheme and with icon scheme turned on and off, but it still looks the same.

Have you tried log out then log into kde ? Not a reboot but end session, start new one ?
If you still can't do it, have a look there

Nope, logging out/in didn't work and nothing in that link really helps.
