about usb hdd in kernel 2.6.15

Hi,all, I compiled the 2.6.15 for autoloading scsi, scsi disk, usb device,usb-storage,ehci-hcd,uhci etc, marked with[*], building them into kernel, but when I boot system with new kernel,it seemed not autoload usb support(i have a usb hdd on my system when booting),so when boot finish, I try fdisk -l, i can't see the /dev/sd..,
but it is ok to autoload usb-hdd when i use 2.4.31,so can anyone help me the fix the problem about 2.6.15 kernel? thanks
