Abiword --- Can't insert picture in table cell
...and I sure would like to.
Anybody know if this is possible?
If not what word processor other than OO will do it? (Just out of curiosity, will OpenOffice do it? Unfortunately, I'm using AMD64, and the lack of OO is one of my biggest headaches.)

Ah. Silly me. It's not that I can't insert a picture at all, there is something about this particular picture. I can't even insert it into the document at all.
The picture is a .png, but I've inserted plenty of them. There is no permissions issue. The only thing unusual about the picture that I can see is it's small size. It's only 16x16 pixels. Anybody have a clue?

Well, since nobody helped me I had to go off experimenting. Moved all the stuff from the 64-bit machine to the 32-bit where I have OpenOffice. OpenOffice had no problem whatsoever handling it. Pain in the neck, because the app for the major documentation job I'm doing is on the 64. My 32-bit machine is a laptop. Guess it's not the end of the world if I have to set them side by side to work for a while.
In the process of coming to that conclusion, I found that Abiword and OO Writer are decidedly unfriendly with each other Even a simple cut and paste of text didn't work right, let alone trying to copy a table or picture from one to the other. Don't even think of trying to convince them to open each other's documents. Dunno who, if anyone is responsible for that, but it's kind of a shame that the two best WPs in the Linux world aren't a little more compatible.
