A boot resource problem...

I have a bit of a problem down here, since recently when I boot into Linux he needs trumendues recources to start up and keep running. I can't see any programs in the windowslist nor can I click on the pictograms in the panel... I checked in the process manager and saw some extreme figures: X uses about 40%, notification-are-applet uses about 30% and pam-panel-icon uses about 30% aswell... I have a tbird 700 cpu with 384 MB sd ram and this problem only develloped recently, I have no idea were it came from... Oh yes, the problems disapper when Linux is fully restarted, after about 5 to 10 minuts (!!!)
Thanks in advance!
