[xdg-email] mutt.desktop is a mystery to me.

Good afternoon.

Now me. xdg.
I cannot make xdg-email run the mutt mail-client. For the time, I fear that more configuration-files need scrutiny or that duplicates might get in the way. The settings that I show below are unique, as far as I see, as regards files and content.

./local/config/applications/mimeapps.list
Code:
[Added Associations]
x-scheme-handler/mailto=mutt.desktop; (...)
Code:
guynemer@spat:~$ xdg-email test@test.org
opens the editor and lets mutt send a mail. This is okay, so far.

Code:
guynemer@spat:~$ xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto'
mutt.desktop
Code:
guynemer@spat:~$ cat /usr/share/applications/mutt.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Mail-client
GenericName=Mail-client
Exec=mutt
TryExec=mutt
Terminal=true
Icon=mutt
Type=Application
Categories=Utility;Office
Keywords=Mail;Mutt
Software which uses xdg-email to delegate the creation of mail to mutt can still *not* use these settings.
For example,
  • responding by mail to a news-post in flnews, does nothing.
  • The same applies to mailto-links clicked in Qutebrowser

Edit: I found ~/.config/mimeapps.list, and therein an entry
Code:
application/mbox=mutt.desktop;
This should not be a problem or is it?

Work-Around.

Heureka!

I found a work-around. [Solved] would be something else, but I mark the thread anyway.
Here is the new mutt.desktop file:
Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Mailclient
GenericName=Mailclient
Exec=new_mail
TryExec=new_mail
Terminal=false
Icon=mutt
Type=Application
Categories=Utility;Office
Keywords=Mail;Mutt
new_mail is a 1-liner shell script..:
Code:
lxterminal -e "mutt \"$1\""
If there is logic, then I cannot see it. I comprehend by looking at what has happened (before my eyes) that the above command-line does, what the desktop-file had been meant to do, but cannot.

As it becomes the rule, nowadays, I do not care anymore.

TY anyway.
