Question [Ubuntu] Adding "AR8131 Gigabit Ethernet" to live distro?

Hello

The laptop I use for tests has an AR8131 Gigabit Ethernet chip which Clonezilla/Ubuntu (3.0.0-13-generic #22-Ubuntu SMP) doesn't seem to support natively.

"ifconfig" shows no eth0, and lshw says this:

Code:
*-network DISABLED
    description: Ethernet interface
    product: AR8131 Gigabit Ethernet
    vendor: Atheros Communications
    physical id: 0
    bus info: pci@0000:02:00.0
    logical name: eth0
    version: c0
    serial: 00:1e:33:1d:c8:a1
    capacity: 1Gbit/s
    width: 64 bits
    clock: 33MHz
    capabilities: pm msi pciexpress vpd bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt-fd autonegotiation
    configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=atl1c driverversion=1.0.1.0-NAPI firmware=N/A latency=0 link=no multicast=yes port=twisted pair
    resources: irq:18 memory:e2500000-e253ffff ioport:1000(size=128)
Some articles show how to add the driver, but it requires rebooting, which is no go for a live distro like Clonezilla, as the changes will be lost when I reboot.

Does someone know how to add support for that Ethernet chip so it'll be persistent between reboots, or an easy way to add it once it's up and running?

Thank you.

I notice the following files:

Code:
EFI\boot\grub.cfg
isolinux\isolinux.cfg
live\filesystem.squashfs
syslinux\syslinux.cfg
Maybe I can edit/add some of them to add support for that Ethernet chip?
