Dear all,
I need to an article that it compares win2003server with Linux for my boss.
If you have, please post its link.
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and GNU/Linux are just operating systems. It is easier to compare them based on some task or need.
Without anything more specific, the best I think anyone can suggest is to look at a comparison of Open Source Software versus proprietary software. "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" is probably one of the better known essays on the subject:
And in what kind of environment---if you already have several Windows Servers, loads of Microsoft licences and possibly Microsoft-related services from 3rd party companies, it might be easier to add in one extra Windows Server than start investigating what sort of GNU/Linux OS would fit in, how much it would cost, how it could be made work with the others etc. etc.
My co-worker is like win2003 & i like FOSS operating systems. If you have an article on security-virus-power-stability-reliabality please put your link.
