why device is not reflected as partitioned in multipath environment

Hi all,

over at ORCL01, I've execute the following

Code:
ORCL01:~ # multipath -ll asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1
asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1 (3600507630080828c4000000000000016) dm-15 IBM     ,2145
size=500M features='1 queue_if_no_path' hwhandler='0' wp=rw
`-+- policy='round-robin 0' prio=30 status=active
  |- 7:0:0:20 sdv  65:80  active ready running
  `- 8:0:0:20 sdas 66:192 active ready running

ORCL01:~ # /lib/udev/scsi_id --whitelisted --device=/dev/sdv
3600507630080828c4000000000000016
ORCL01:~ # /lib/udev/scsi_id --whitelisted --device=/dev/sdas
3600507630080828c4000000000000016

ORCL01:~ # ls -l /dev/mapper/asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Apr 18 15:14 /dev/mapper/asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1 -> ../dm-15
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Apr 18 09:08 /dev/mapper/asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1_part1 -> ../dm-46
ORCL01:~ # ls -l /dev/sdv*
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 65, 80 Apr 17 14:06 /dev/sdv
ORCL01:~ # ls -l /dev/sdas*
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 66, 192 Apr 17 14:06 /dev/sdas
Note here despite sdv and sdas being mapped to asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1 they are not reflected as being partitioned.

over at ORCL02 the same things happens

Code:
ORCL02:~ # multipath -ll asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1
asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1 (3600507630080828c4000000000000016) dm-15 IBM     ,2145
size=500M features='1 queue_if_no_path' hwhandler='0' wp=rw
`-+- policy='round-robin 0' prio=30 status=active
  |- 7:0:0:20 sdv  65:80  active ready running
  `- 8:0:0:20 sdas 66:192 active ready running

ORCL02:~ # /lib/udev/scsi_id --whitelisted --device=/dev/sdv
3600507630080828c4000000000000016
ORCL02:~ # /lib/udev/scsi_id --whitelisted --device=/dev/sdas
3600507630080828c4000000000000016

ORCL02:~ # ls -l /dev/mapper/asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Apr 18 15:21 /dev/mapper/asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1 -> ../dm-15
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Apr 17 14:51 /dev/mapper/asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1_part1 -> ../dm-32
ORCL02:~ # ls -l /dev/sdv*
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 65, 80 Apr 17 14:08 /dev/sdv
ORCL02:~ # ls -l /dev/sdas*
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 66, 192 Apr 17 14:08 /dev/sdas
Here again both devices are tied to asm-ocr-vote-mirror-1 yet both are not reflected as partitioned.

May I know why are the devices not reflected as partitioned?

I've in fact execute /etc/init.d/multipathd stop and /etc/init.d/multipathd start on both sides.

I've also execute /etc/init.d/boot.multipath stop and /etc/init.d/boot.multipath start on both sides.

Results are the same as above. May I know why are the devices not reflected as partitioned?

I'm using Suse Linux 11 SP3 (SLES 11)
thanks a lot!
