webmin system and server status apache is not runing

Hi

I am trying to monitor my apache server in webmin system and server status module on slackware but although it is running it shows that the server is down.
The apache server module is configured for webmin.

What should be configured for correct monitoring?

Check to make sure that apache is really working, use this command

/etc/init.d/apache status
or
/etc/init.d/apache2 status
or
/etc/init.d/httpd status

If its working then check the apache config file is correclty placed in webmin apache module.

He mentioned slackware, so /etc/init.d/apache|apache2|httpd status wouldn't apply here.

And the default rc.httpd script in Slackware only has start|stop|restart as options in /etc/rc.d

To check the status in Slackware, you need to run /usr/sbin/apachectl status and the script uses lynx, so that must be installed. You can edit the apachectl script to use links but you also need to have server-status enabled in your httpd.conf file, which I tend to disable.

The other quick way to verify is just to do a ps and look at the output to see if httpd processes are running.

ps fax | grep httpd

Also the OP mentioned that apache is running, so I'm assuming they've already verified by other means.
