Unable to stop Jboss


Hello,

I'm currently trying to stop JBoss and I'm not able to accomplish it, have look everywhere... java, etc, no idea.
It was working well and then it just stopped :S

no changes were made from a Jboss perspective.

Please see error.

[root@myserver jboss]# service jboss stop
JBOSS_CMD_START = cd /opt/jboss/bin; /opt/jboss/bin/run.sh -c default -b 0.0.0.0
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax.management.MalformedObjectNameException
at org.jboss.mx.util.ObjectNameFactory.create(ObjectNameFactory.java:52)
at org.jboss.system.server.ServerImplMBean.<clinit>(ServerImplMBean.java:35)
at java.lang.Class.initializeClass(libgcj.so.7rh)
at org.jboss.Shutdown.main(Shutdown.java:118)

I'm not familiar with jboss but you could base on PID to kill it.

Yes, it could be killed but it shouldn't be the proper way to shut it down :S

Lightbulb Check your Java version

I was getting a similar error while starting JBoss. I changed the version of Java to an older version and it started working again.

Lastly, you can try running ...\jboss\bin\shutdown.bat -S.

That's the proper way, which at the same time is related to your Java version comments
