Unable to get iSCSI targets working

Where can I go to get help regarding implementation of iSCSI targets?
I posted another thread but not getting any responses.
I followed several of the guids, but it's not working and generating errors, which I posted in another thread.
Im totally stuck. Ive tried this twice on 2 different machines with the same OS, and get exactly the same error, so I think it's something procedural in nature, perhaps a missed step or package.

Where is the other thread? Or can you be a little bit more precise here?
Are you using openiscsi? Do you have a hba? Or just a network card?

There are several guides on the internet, I referenced more than one in trying to get this to work.
http://www.server-world.info/en/note...ntOS_6&p=iscsi
http://easylinuxtutorials.blogspot.c...itator-on.html
and others...
Results are that I get the error shown below after the sequence of steps:
# uname -rv
2.6.32-431.17.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed May 7 23:32:49 UTC 2014
# yum install -y scsi-target-utils
# chkconfig tgtd on
# dd if=/dev/zero of=/iscsi/img01.img count=0 bs=1 seek=1G
# cat /etc/tgt/targets.conf
default-driver iscsi
<target iqn.2014-08.dssi:target1>
backing-store /iscsi/img01.img
initiator-address 10.0.0.254
</target>
# /etc/init.d/tgtd start
Starting SCSI target daemon: [ OK ]
tgtadm: invalid request
Command:
tgtadm -C 0 --lld iscsi --op new --mode logicalunit --tid 1 --lun 1 -b /iscsi/img01.img
exited with code: 22.

can you resolv the "dssi" name on the server?
For example with the host command?
If not place the full domain name there, reversed, like:
org.linuxquestions.www
The error 22 is a very general error.
I think there is a nameing problem above, or maybe a firewall issue.
