Ubuntu Server as a web server addressing

I have built an Ubuntu Server (16.04) to use as the host for an intranet I'm building.

Ive installed wordpress succesfully but the address to access the site is http:ServerAddress/Wordpress (or 10.0.0.11/intranet)

My question is, how do I configure so that I get to my Wordpress site with http://intranet ?

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

You need something that can resolve IP addresses to a URL. The simplest solution would be to use a static IP or DHCP reservation in your router and add the address/hostname to each computers hosts file. This will not work on mobile devices.

Without knowing anything about your network or hardware you could run a simple DNS server like dnsmasq. It also has the capability of being a DHCP server so it will replace that functionality of your router. The downside is you need to run your server 24/7.

+1 for DNSmasq.

I'd say first to look into what you router can already do. Some routers can assign a name to a machine on the LAN. Many can't. If yours can't then you might also give consideration to replacing the firmware with DD-WRT or OpenWRT to get proper functionality. Both include DNSmasq. If you have the budget you can buy a spare router, from the compatibility list, and install the DD-WRT or OpenWRT firmware on that, leaving the original router alone.
