[SOLVED] Ubuntu 16.04 Server / grub-install /dev/sda failed

Hi guys,

I am trying to install the ubuntu 16.04 server version but it fails in installing grub boot loader. I receive the message

Executing 'grub-install /dev/sda' failed.

This is a fatal error.

Do you know how to fix this problem?

Someone might be able to help if we knew a little more about your hardware. You can boot the Ubuntu media or any system and get the boot repair software from the link below. You can either burn it to a CD or install and run it on the Ubuntu media you are using. Select the Create BootInfo Summary option and post a link to the output here.

Mistery is actually solved. We had to create a small EFI partition on the drives for the UEFI.
