system file level access permission to web application users
Hi,
I have a java application running in tomcat. Users logged in to the web aplication, where logins are stored in MySQL. I have created some directory hierarchy for each user in the server where their files are stored.
Is there anyway I can set user permissions on their corresponding directories through the wep application ? Is this kind of feature available in tomcat ?
SO that they store files on their own directories(through web app only) and if want to share some file to other user(when they are added in group owner of file).
It will be like system user permission/special permission on files/dirs to users in the webpage.
Or do I need to create a OS user also for the web user and if so how the web user will be mapped to the local system user . The underlying OS layer file/dir permsions behind application will be invisible to user.
