Your trying to compare apples to oranges. Embedded linux is not a distribution AFAIK. Embedded linux IMHO is a version that runs on non standard PC hardware or single board computers without the typical input/output devices like video and keyboards or even hard drives. Commerical embedded devices can be PDAs, Cell phones, Tivo etc. So the OS in an embedded device is highly modified from what you see on a typical PC. There are standard versions like debian that have been modified for embedded devices but SuSE has not been.
Of course one might consider mini-itx PCs as embedded devices which can run a standard linux distribution.
