strange text come out

I try to install red hat linux and I connect the PC with serial port .
I use hyper terminal as terminal.
when the machine boot from DVD/CD , there is no text mode(simply graphic) screen come out..
just a strange/rubblish text come out ??
What is the problem ??
Pleae advice .

Strange text via a serial port is an indication that you have an improper setting. Most likely in Baud rate, but it is possible that the parity, stop bits, or data bits is wrong.

I also find it is hang when I install in text mode ..below is the hang screen
