strange dns issue with cdn

Hello,

For currently I met a strange issue of dns,we are in ASIA but in our office we are using American headquarters' dns (compliance of IT) ,the problem is when we accessed the website which is being CDNed,we found we accessed the servers in American not in ASIA.

I think the vender's GSLB think we are from American so assign a server located in American to us(GSLB think it is the nearest ),but in fact we are in ASIA.

Had anybody encounted the same issue with me? What is your solution in this case?

Very appreciated your help.

Hello,
from what do you understand you're being redirected to the American servers? Web pages language? In this case, try changing your browser's preferred language.

If it still does not work and your suppositions are fine, and it's probable, then if you can't have this problem solved from your it or from the CDN provider, then there are a few options that anyway I would not recommend... better consider these proposals as "theoretical".
  1. use a proxy server located in Asia (only a very trusted one! Because otherwise your traffic would travel unencrypted and could be used by "who knows"!)
  2. circumvent load balancing by statically mapping the DNS name to an Asian IP address by using your local hosts file (the CDN provider would for sure complain about this!)
