Storage device is not mounting after reboot even added permanent entry in fstab

cat /etc/fstab

#nfs mounts
ipaddress:/shared /mnt/storage nfs rw,auto,_netdev 0 0

is the netfs service (or equivalent) set to run on start? Does "mount /mnt/storage" work?
