Squid - picking up wrong IP

I have set up squdi and think I connected through my browser as it asked for the username and password.
However, IP checking sites are still picking up my IP address as 70.xxx.xxx.xxx instead of the proxy server's IP address.
ANy ideas if I have missed a setting in the conf?

Have you set the visible_hostname parameter?

Kind regards,

Eric

Oops, think I missunderstood your remark. Do you mean that when you visit a site like whatsmyip your WAN IP gets shown instead of the proxy IP?

That's what I thought but that website shows the proxy server address correctly. It's a 213 address though...is that UK?

Go to http://network-tools.com/ and do a Lookup or Network Lookup to find out more about your IP.

Kind regards,

Eric
