speed of a fsck of an ext4 volume

Hi all. Have some new hardware and I have my first ext4 large volume on it. I just ran my first fsck of the volume, and I've never seen an fsck run so fast in my life before!
By design, do ext4 volumes fsck much faster than ext3, or is this blazing speed probably more a testament to my hardware?
It just went through all five stages (error free) of about 1TB of data in a minute or two. It went so fast I can't believe it haha.

Yes, On EXT4 fsck runs fast. On EXT4 fsck dont check unused block so obviously time taken by fsck will depend on how much many blocks(extent) are in use.

Thanks

Also, note that if you adjust the settings in fstab, it'll fsck the disks in parallel (not an ext4 thing, just an actual use for that column)
