Sendmail - only accept mail from authenticated users and gateway

I've recently setup a dedicated system as an email gateway for all incoming mail. It checks mail for spam and viruses and forwards it on to the correct server afterwards.

What I want to do on the other mail servers is configure sendmail to only accept mail from authenticated users and the mail gateway address. I don't want the servers to accept mail from anywhere else.

I've googled a bit and can't seem to find docs for sendmail to accomplish this. Maybe I'm not search the correct phrase? Any help will be appreciated!

Take a look at the Delay all checks section of /usr/share/doc/sendmail/README.cf. You should be able to use that with the /etc/mail/access file to do what you want.
