Hi,
I'm running a mail server on CentOS 6.1 server, so far I have it all working.
If I take a mail as example:
firstname.lastname@domain1.com - mapped to "user1" system user
That user can authenticate with user1 as username and his/hers password.
And a second mail as example with a different domain:
firstname.lastname@domain2.com - mapped to "user2" system user
This user can also authenticate with his/hers username and password.
But what I'm trying to achieve is, that I would not need to have system users on the server, as they are not permitted to log on any way, and also would like to have, that the users would need to use the full mail address as their username.
But how to achieve this? Do I configure SASLAuth to mech ldap or pam and then configure pam to "contact" the ldap server? Do I even need an ldap server for this configuration? I've been searching quite a lot on this topic, but couldn't find any useful help so far or I just haven't searched hard enough.
Kind regards,
