Samba password keeps being reset
I've been having some problems with Samba lately. Let me explain the situation: I'm running an Ubuntu home server which is running Samba. It serves 2 users; the initial user (because Ubuntu has no root by default), Exise, and simply another user called John.
Because I want to keep the Unix and Samba passwords separate, I've added the 'unix password sync = no' option to the smb.conf file. Now, after I change the Samba password using smbpasswd, it works until I reboot the server. Somehow Exise's password is changed back to the Unix password. The strange thing is, John's password is not reset.
How can I keep Exise's password from being set back to the Unix password?
Thanks!
Exise
