Samba error: "not an allowed info level"

Hello

From /var/log/syslog, repeated every ~15 minutes when WXP Professional SP2 is running in a VirtualBox virtual machine:
Code:
705 Dec 5 21:32:16 CW8 smbd[4000]: [2009/12/05 21:32:16, 0] smbd/trans2.c:call_trans2qfsinfo(2568)
706 Dec 5 21:32:16 CW8 smbd[4000]: call_trans2qfsinfo: not an allowed info level (0x102) on IPC$.
This is a rare error; Googling for "not an allowed info level" gets only 4 hits and all related to only one original posting from 25jan9 which got a single "me too" reply and no suggestions or resolution.

Presumably that indicates it is caused by something unusual about the affected systems but, as best I know, all components are straightforward (details below) except that most of the regular user's profile is on the share. The error message has been generated since samba was first configured and virtual WXP started. The shares work OK on virtual WXP ($IPCS is not knowingly used).

No ideas specifically, but I'd personally head to wireshark and see what it makes of the protocol, it may well be able to break it down to such a level it'll highlight a difference somewhere.

Not a Networking question. Moved to Linux - Server.
