Rsync-SSH

I have found a post that says
Quote:
First off, I prefer to go the otherway, that is wrapping rsync inside of an ssh session rather than ssh within rsync, but the choice is yours..
I want to ask if someone knows what is wrapping rsync and how to do it.

Thanks.

That post was mine from a good number of years ago. There really isn't much difference between using rsync with ssh encryption or rsync within ssh. Either way, the data in transit will be encrypted by SSH.

The difference in the wrapping is what/where is doing the talking. Either way, the same data will move. Its just semantics, will you pull the data from A to B, or push the data from B to A? Sometimes the command is easier run from one side or another. You've got your classic *nix $command $SOURCE $DESTINATION, and the $SOURCE and $DESTINATION will be the opposites based if the command comes from the source or destination host.

My quote came from the fact that I was more comfortable in SSH than in rsync. Neither way is better, it is just a question of comfort. Sorry to have caused confusion.
