Remote Software Installer/Updater

Hi. I have around 300 linux terminals that are very light. They have SSH/a web browser/java on them. I have been looking for an application to remotely update any of those applications.

I found spacewalk and apt-dater. Since it is not a Redhat based install. I didn't think spacewalk would work. Apt-dater seems like it would do it, but I was hoping for something with a full gui.

Any suggestions or searches you can suggest would be awesome. So many searches I have done end up finding management applications that create the OS. It doesn't have functionality to update packages afterwards.

Thanks
David

I would recommend Puppet from Puppet Labs. It's probably way too much for what you're looking for, but it does include application management. It's also a great way to provision and manage servers/workstations.
