Recompile PHP after installing with yum

Hello,

I've recently upgraded my PCRE library from 6.6 to 7.6. I now need PHP to recognize the upgrade. It seems PHP needs to be recompiled for this to happen. My system is CentOS 5, and I used yum to install PHP. Therefore, I don't have any of the original source files. Can someone please provide a suggestion or steps to recompile PHP?

So download the PHP source code from the PHP website http://us2.php.net/

yum remove php
yum install php

-- the newly installed version of php recognized the PCRE upgrade.

Is there not an "install --reinstall" sort of action for yum, like there is for apt, that would shorten that to one command?
