Recommendation to be followed before lanching heavy load apache server


Hi
Im planning to lauch heavy load apache server.which actually receives a 8000 hits everyday .I have not handle a heavy load apache server till yet .I had decide to lauch the application my apache server in virtual server of following configuration .Can anyone give me any suggestion what are step to be done to handle the heavy load apache server to handle a huge hits.

You don't say what your web application is and whether by hits you mean hits as defined by the apache log file or if you mean page displays.

If you are looking to do 8000 page displays of something like a vBulletin forum then that virtual server may cope with it.

Hi
Its basically on airway booking engine.which i planned to run on ( Apache,Tomcat,Mysql) .From the client side i had received that server could receives 8000 hits (by accesslog). More than 5000 Booking everyday .Max of 500 user at a minute.Any suggestion

What testing method are you using to ensure your VPS can cope with that load?

Hi ,
Manually im passsing the load to my server using LoadRunner, and im checking off the status of server performance .
