Question about software raid

Hi,

on a linux box managed by me and other people, I see this:

Quote:
# cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [raid1]
md1 : active raid1 sda2[2](F) sdb2[1]
118166016 blocks [2/1] [_U]
...
This means that someone has explicitly set sda2 as failed disk?

On the same machine, there are other arrays (md0 and md2) with sda partitions (sda1 and sda3) without problem.. isn't strange?
Thankyou

I don't think that a human has set that disk as failed but I think sda2 and sdb2 are not synchronized anymore.
Try to synchronize them manually.

The disk is failed; check your logs (/var/log/messages) for the reason.

As described on chapter 6.2 (http://unthought.net/Software-RAID.H...D.HOWTO-6.html), you must change your hard drive.
