proxy server's configuration problem


i have installed LInux AS-4 server to use as a proxy server for my [
  1. LIST=1]
  2. local Intranet . I have configured Squid by assigning local IP address and DNS Name servers IP and apply the mininimum configuration rule .then i have started the squid but when i am trying to ping any website i am getting 'unknown host';
  3. One thing i want cleared that i am using a firewall if i assigned the firewall's IP as a gateway with Preferred DNS Server's IP on any window-XP PC or even on The same Linux Server i am able to get any website , but through "SQUID" i am not getting why ??? Pleasse help me
  4. ANy configuration mistake ???
  5. or any IP entry mistake ?????
  6. i have assgined the Firewall's IP as a gateway on LINUX Server by opening Network Setting in GUI mode only .
