postfix not working after upgrade

So i ran apt-get upgrade and now my email server dosent work anymore. I cant recive any mail, and when i try and send mail from my webmail i get an error "Connection refused
Server replied: 111 Can't open SMTP stream."

except from the above i am clueless as to whats wrong, anyone had the same problem, or knows how to fix it?

Also i get this error message in my log mail.log file. never seen it before.
Apr 15 17:00:00 mail postfix/master[15216]: fatal: epoll_create: Function not implemented

postfix 2.3.8-2+b1 ----> postfix_2.4.0-2

Dovecot got upgraded as well, dont know if the problem lies there.

okay found the problem, apparently Postfix has been compiled to use the epoll_create which is only available in kernel version 2.5/2.6 and i am using 2.4.
