sounds massively unlikely, but you've really told us nothing useful about what it is to make a call. If something is messing with Modems and things then running from a different machine sounds like a really really unlikely thing to ever work, let alone over a different OS.

btw, please use useful thread titles in future.

well,
first, i have windows XP on my pc, and linux on VMware.
second, im using a freeradius server for centralized auth. of the company's network, this server is installed on Windows XP.
Now, i found this application "dialupadmin" which help me configure easily my server, but the prob is that it must run on Linux.
so what i'm asking is, if it's possible to "convert" this app so it can work on Windows, or if i run it on VMware (linux) will it affect the server on Windows?

You answered your own question here. If the file is meant to be run on Linux then it should be run on Linux only. The only way you can run it on Windows if you have an exe/msi file.

It is always advisable to run any program in some test server if you are not sure what the outcome is going to be.

i was thinking the same thing, yes linux software can sometimes be 'ported' to windows and visa versa but with software that deals with devices that would be perhaps more difficult then it's worth especially if you aren't a programmer since *NIX (unix, linux, *BSD etc..) operating systems handle devices significantly differently then windows so in the end it would probably be better to bite the bullet and learn linux or find a windows program that does the same thing, otherwise it's like trying to use a submarine as a space ship or visa versa, yeah they can be 'converted' to perform either task (both are airtight vessels) but neither will do the other's job very effeciently (different engines)
