Question php 5.1.6 with mysql 5.0.27

Hello,

I have a plesk 8 server on a fedora core 5 installed automatically by plesk autoinstaller.
Everything in plesk is ok, i can create domains, sites and databases via the plesk phpmyadmin.

But the sites can not connect to the db.
The phpinfo indicate the it was not compiled with the option with-mysql.

How can i change this ? I am new with Linux system and i don't know how to re-compile php module ...
Do i have to uninstall php first ? how ?
Where can i find the folder to compile php ?
PHP : 5.1.6.2
MySql : 5.0.27
Apache : 2.0

Thanks.
A

You need to install the php-mysql support files to get mysql working with php. They should be on your Fedora CDs.

You hahe to recompile Apache with mysql, if you want to. But you don't have to do that because mysql works fine as a module.

There must be some other files left uninstalled. Check all the files you have on CD with 'mysql' as part of the name.

Can anyone tell me how to do that, in which directory i must enter the command to recompile ?
PHP was automatically installed by the plesk installer.

As I said earlier, you have to recompile Apache with mysql, not PHP. You can do that in the directory where the Apache source is. Look at the Apache site for all the details.

Hello,

I've found what was missing ...
When you check the option mysql in the fedora core 5 setup, you have to click on more package and select the php-mysql not selected by default ...
I installed PLesk server and it's running with mysql now.

I suppose the the php-mysql package seen two replies before is the plesk php-mysql package used only for the plesk interface server.

Thanks for your reply
